Arthur Paul Roberts, Sr
April 4, 1937 - February 23, 2021

Paul Roberts Sr. passed from death into everlasting life February 23, 2021 at 11:23am. He was
surrounded by his family's love and prayers as he entered the arms of his Savior.

Paul was born to R.R. "Red" and Ruby Pruett Roberts on April 4, 1937 in a dog - trot house on the
banks of Wasp Lake in Belzoni, Mississippi. He learned to love the land at an early age as he
began farming with his father. For 83 years he enjoyed working the Delta soil of Humphreys County
as a producer of cotton, soybeans, wheat, corn and catfish.

He married Patricia Ann "Pat" Outlaw on August 24, 1958 and they celebrated "62 1/2 years" of
marriage. They were blessed with two sons, Paul Jr and Pepper.

Paul is survived by his wife Pat, sons Paul Jr. (Denise) and Pepper (Crystal), special children
David Moler and Sue Moler Hawkins (Ben), five grandchildren, Russell (Julie), Abby, Jillian,
James, and Joseph, one great grandson, Owen, three special grandchildren Miranda (Hunter), Kinsey
(Jason), and Madison, three special great grandchildren, Noah, Landry and Luke.
He is also survived by his brother Bobby (Camille) and a host of family members and loving friends
he considered his extended family.

Paul graduated in 1955 from Belzoni High School. In 1959, he received a Bachelor of Science degree
from Mississippi State University in Agricultural Engineering. While at MSU, he was a member of
the Kappa Sigma Fraternity and the Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society.
Paul served in the MS Army National Guard and upon completion of his 6 months of active duty
service he returned to full-time farming. He often attributed his success in farming to the hard
work of his sons and many good men who labored side by side with him daily.
He developed a love for aeronautics and earned his private pilots license. Many hours of flight
were enjoyed in his Cessna 172 and he passed that love of flying on to the next two generations.
Paul was faithful in supporting his local community and was a charter member of the first Humphreys
County Catfish Festival committee as well as a founding member of Producer's Feed. Paul professed
his faith in Christ at an early age and was baptized at First Baptist Church where he served as
deacon and secretary of the children's department for many years. He was a founding member of the
FBC Student Scholarship program which is still active today.

A memorial service in celebration of his life will be Friday, February 26, 2021 at Eastside
Baptist
Church in Belzoni. Visitation will be in the Sanctuary at 1pm followed by the service at 2pm.
