Edna Pearl Childs Hobson, 83, of Isola, passed away Thursday, September 26, 2024, at her daughter's home in Tilley, Arkansas. Pearl was born May 26, 1941, in Belzoni, to Nancy Colyer and Alfred Childs. She was a loving and hardworking woman. Pearl worked as a seamstress for Jockey International for over 30 years before their closure. She was a devoted member of Beulah Baptist Church in Inverness. Pearl enjoyed putting puzzles together, shopping with her friends, and tending to her roses. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Pearl was a devoted mother and grandmother and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; nine brothers, James Edward Childs, Bud Childs, Wes Childs, Tommy Childs, Morris Childs, Willie Childs, Alfred Childs Jr., Billy Joe Childs, and Gary Childs; and granddaughter, Dena Smith.

Pearl is survived by two sons, Roy Hobson, Jr. (Tammy) of Indianola and Wayne Hobson (Christy) of Cruger; two daughters, Susan Hobson of Greenwood and Debbie Shaw (Jon) of Tilly, Arkansas; sister, Doris Grisham of Belzoni; nine grandchildren, David Smith (Kathy), Cassie Ferguson (James), Crystal Penson (Andrew), Jonathan Hobson (Jessica), Steven Hobson (Jennifer), Michael Hobson (Dominique), Brandon Hobson, and Anna Hobson; and fourteen great-grandchildren with one more on the way.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm, Monday, September 30, 2024, at Burton Funeral Home in Indianola. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm with Rev. Lee Kirk officiating. Burial will follow in Greencrest Memorial Gardens in Belzoni. Burton Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
