Pearl Phillips Johnson, 82, of Inverness, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. Pearl was born in Linn, MS and was the daughter of Wister David and Nancy Cook Phillips. She was a homemaker, and dedicated her life in the care of her family. Pearl was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Pearl was preceded in death by her parents; step mother, Lottie Phillips; seven brothers; three sisters; and one son, Ricky Johnson. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of 62 years, Walter Johnson, Jr. of Inverness; sons, Harold D. Johnson, Sr. of Colt, AR, Michael W. Johnson and wife Beth of Inverness, Keith Johnson and fiancé Kimberly Huffman of Inverness; daughter, Carolyn Buchanan and husband John of Victoria, TX; sisters, Grace White and husband John of Berkley Springs, West VA, Mary Gordon of Greenville, Nellie Jones of Carrollton; eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Thursday, June 16th from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Burton Funeral Home, Indianola. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 17th at 10:00 am at Burton Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Southside Cemetery, Inverness, all under the direction of Burton Funeral Home, Indianola.
