Penny Rene Pierce Miller, 60, of Belzoni, passed into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at the home of her sister after a short illness.

Penny was born March 17, 1962, to the late Mr. JD "Red" and Jeanette Rodgers Pierce of Belzoni.  Penny worked numerous years for Walmart in Indianola, MS and Winder, GA, before becoming disabled.  Penny loved her family especially all of her nieces and nephews that she help raise while keeping them during summers and after school while their parents worked.  Then later in life all the great and great-great nieces and nephews she was blessed with.

Penny accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age.

Penny is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Bonnie Jean Pierce 'infant', and Judy Pierce Lewis; and great-niece, Ariana Grace Lewis.

Penny is survived by brother, Jimmy Pierce (Lynn) of Brandon, MS; sisters Debbie Jones (Travis) of Belzoni, MS, and Sherry Barnett (Mike) of Nederland, TX.  She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and fur baby, Tinkerbell.

Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, August 20, 2022, from 12:30pm to 2:00pm, at Eastside Baptist Church in Belzoni, MS.  Services will follow at 2:00pm, at Eastside Baptist Church in Belzoni, MS, with interment in Belzoni City Cemetery.

The family will livestream the service on Burton Funeral Home Facebook page for people that would like to attend but cannot travel.
