Lloyd Everett 'Pete' Twiner, 77, of Belzoni, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2026, at his home.

Pete was born August 16, 1948, in Yazoo City, to Clarence and Opal Irene Robertson Twiner. He worked for Tennessee Gas Pipeline for 25 years prior to retiring and opening Twiner Trackhoe Service in 1996. He was a Mississippi Army National Guard Veteran. Pete was a man of few words; just let him get on a piece of heavy equipment, and he was a happy man. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching football and baseball. Most of all, he loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Pete was a member of First United Methodist Church in Belzoni.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Coker Twiner and Opal Irene Twiner; and two brothers, Johnnie Eugene Twiner and Clarence Lamar Twiner.

Pete is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Jane Twiner of Belzoni; daughter, Dodie McElmurray (Chip) of Madison; son, Bryan Jones (Dana) of Brandon; four grandchildren, Carley Thomas (Scott) of Paducah, KY, Ashton Johnston (Laken) of Pearl, Lyndi Latham (Michael Ray)of Puckett, and Jacob Jones of Brandon; great grandchildren, Scott Thomas III, Everett Thomas, Jane Kennedy Thomas, Ashlynn Johnston, and Emma Johnston; sister, Linda Irene Bankston of Brandon; brother, Ricky Dale Twiner (Ann) of Isola; and special coworker for 25 years, Floyd 'Bubbie' Childs.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026, from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at First United Methodist Church in Belzoni. The memorial service will begin at 2:00 pm. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
