Inverness
Rebecca Ann Walker Palmore, 78, of Inverness passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at her lifelong home where she was born and raised. Becky was born July 7, 1944, to Lora Bell McDowell Walker and Clifford Walker. She was the youngest of 8 siblings. Becky attended Inverness High School and completed high school in Dallas, Texas in 1962. She married James Edward Palmore of Inverness November 24,1964. She was a lifelong resident of Inverness and a member of First Baptist Church.
Mrs. Palmore is survived by her husband of 57 years, James Ed Palmore, her children, Traci Palmore Beckham (Will) and Jennifer Palmore Holdeman. In addition, she is survived by her grandchildren whom she cherished, Ann Linden Holdeman, Mary Grace Beckham, and William Lamar (Beck) Beckham, Jr.
Mrs. Becky is fondly remembered as serving the local community as a hair dresser for over 20 years. Many good stories were shared in Becky's Beauty Salon.
Most importantly, Becky was a sacrificial caregiver for all. She cared for her mother, aunt, and other siblings over the years. Her late father–in-law would only let Becky drive him to his cancer treatments. She adored her children, son-in-law, Will, and her grandchildren.
Rebecca was preceded in death by her parents Lora and Clifford Walker and her siblings, Edna Chrismond, John Deward Walker, Helen Wheeler, Joyce Mayhall, James Walker, Jackie Palmer, and Billy Walker.
The family will receive guests from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, August 15, 2022 at Burton Funeral Home in Indianola. A graveside service will be held at Hickory Grove Cemetery at 3 p.m. Tuesday, August 16, 2022. Reverend Linda Malone will officiate the service.
