Ricky Edward Cockrell, 60, passed away Thursday, February 25, 2021, at Delta Regional Medical Center in Greenville.

Ricky was born October 6, 1960, in Shaw, to Wylie Gaston Cockrell and Rosie Lee Roncali Cockrell. He was self employed in construction and brick masonry. Ricky was a very generous person and would give the shirt off his back to help someone. He was an avid hunter and loved working with his hands. Ricky had a deep love for his daughters and his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Monroe Cockrell.

Ricky is survived by his wife of 43 years, Teresa Mitchell Cockrell; three daughters, Angie Cockrell (Chris) Gordon, Amanda Cockrell, and Ashley Cockrell all of Indianola; brother, David (Brenda) Cockrell of Indianola; sister, Dianne (Mike) Smyth of Yellville, Arkansas; and five grandchildren, Amber Gordon, Rickey Gordon, Edward Flemings, Lydia Flemings, and Walter Cockrell.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm, Monday, March 1, 2021, at Burton Funeral Home in Indianola. The funeral service will begin at 3:00 pm with Rev. Pete Roncali officiating. Burial will follow in Indianola City Cemetery. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements. At the request of the family, masks must be worn to attend.
