Rita Hughes Randall, 80, of Moorhead, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2022, at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.

Rita was born in the Delta on March 5, 1942, to Liston Lamar and Elizabeth Ann Ratliff Hughes. She worked many years as a nurse at South Sunflower County Hospital and then worked for Greenwood OB/GYN for many years prior to her retirement. Rita enjoyed crocheting, cross stitching, gardening, and flowers. She attended Roundaway Baptist Church in Doddsville.

Rita was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Randall; and grandson, Caleb Smith.

She is survived by three children, Craig Smith (Michelle) of Moorhead, Deleigh Smith Daniel (Scott) of Indianola, and Chris Smith (Corey) of Moorhead; one sister, Carolyn Hughes Neal of Tullahoma, Tennessee; and six grandchildren, John Abbott Smith, Reed Smith, Clay Daniel, Caitlyn Smith, Claire Daniel, and Camryn Smith.

A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, November 12, 2022, from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Burton Funeral Home in Indianola.
