Obituary

Funeral services for Robert Hall, 90, of Indianola will be at 3:30 this Sunday, June 2nd, at the Indianola Church of Christ.  Burial will be in Indianola City Cemetery under the direction of Burton Funeral Home.

Mr. Robert W. Hall, Sr. was married to Lynda Moreland and the son of the late Willie and W. B. (Buck) Hall.  He was born January 1, 1934, and died in Indianola on May 24, 2024.  He was one of five children, and his brother Larry Hall of Germantown, Tennessee is the only surviving sibling.

Lynda and Robert married on May 1, 1953, and lived in Florida as newlyweds while Robert served in the Air Force.  They moved back to Mississippi a few years later, making their home in Indianola where they raised three children: Marilyn Hall Mulherin (m. Harbert), and Deborah Hall Hester (m. Bill), and Robert Wayne Hall, Jr. (m. Libba Morgan Vickery).  He is preceded in death by his wife Lynda and son Rob.

He is survived by daughters Marilyn of Dallas, Texas, and Debbie of Stoneville. He had ten grandchildren: Libby McRight (m. John Hunter) of Madison, Merideth VanNamen (m. Stephen) of Cleveland, Trey Hester (m. Jenna) of Memphis, Tennessee, Sara Moreland Hester of Leland, and Rachael Hester of Stoneville, Helen Patterson (m. Chris), Harbert Mulherin (m. Margaret), Robert Hall III, and Jane Anna Vickery, all in Dallas, Texas, and Halle Vickery in Nashville, Tennessee.  He was also blessed with 16 great grandchildren.

Robert owned and operated Central Buick in Indianola for decades and enjoyed interactions with all of his friends and customers in the community.  He was an active and involved member of the Indianola Church of Christ.  He participated in several civic and social organizations over the years and was a regular at Rotary Club.  He was a sports fanatic and loved just about every sport, cheering especially for his children, then grand- and great grandchildren, along with his mighty Rebels.  He was also an avid golfer and enjoyed playing with friends in many tournaments, particularly grateful for those that supported the Rob Hall Memorial Tournament each summer.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church.
