Robert Alexander Roberts, Jr., 69, of Indianola and formerly of Greenwood, passed away Sunday, November 20, 2016 at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. Robert was born in Shaw on September 8, 1947, and was the son of Villie Dempsey and Robert Alexander Roberts, Sr.

Robert married Elizabeth Tilson in August, 1965, and together they made their home in Greenwood, until moving to Indianola in 2012.   Robert worked for Clever Brooks as a sheet metal worker until his retirement. He loved hunting, fishing, and woodworking. Robert was a member of Moorhead Church of God.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Alma Denson. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 51 years, Elizabeth Roberts of Indianola; two sons, Robbie Roberts and wife Tammy and Anthony Roberts, all of Indianola; two brothers, Jerry Lee Roberts and wife Jewel and Earnest Phillip Roberts and wife Linda, all of Greenwood; step grandchild, Steven Oliver Allen; and step great grandchild, Shayla Lynn Allen.

The family will receive friends Friday, November 25 ^th from 2:00 pm until the 3:00 pm funeral service at Burton Funeral Home Chapel in Indianola. Burial will follow in Linn Baptist Cemetery, all under the direction of Burton Funeral Home.
