Rosa Bennett Sumrall, 93, of Indianola and formerly of Belzoni, passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at Walter B. Crook Nursing Facility in Ruleville. She was born in Hot Springs, AR and was the daughter of Harvey and Lessie Babb Bennett. Rosa was a lifelong Baptist and a member of Eastwood Baptist Church in Indianola. She was an Inspector for Jockey International for 38 years until her retirement in 1988. Rosa loved to cook and was well known for specialties such as banana nut bread, pecan pies, and divinity. She was the most caring and giving person, and was well loved by her family, friends, and community.

Rosa was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Buford Sumrall; brother, J. W. Bennett; sister,  Christine Bennett Dickerson; and grandson, Jay Duke. She leaves to cherish her loving memory her son, Glenn (Sharron) Sumrallof Florence, MS; daughters, Shirley (Ronnie) Farrell of Isola, Debbie (Ricky) Fulcher of Vicksburg, Donna (Lowell) Jones of Indianola; grandchildren, Stacey (Chris) Sumrall, Josh (Amanda) Sumrall all of Pearl, Chasity Ferrell Manna of Isola, Tamma (Phillip) Holdeman of Inverness,  Emily (Quinn) McClurg, Anna Montoya all of Vicksburg; step-grandchildren, Chase Jones of Norman, OK, Rachel Daniels of Memphis, Barbie Vaughn of Batesville; great grandchildren, Gage, Hayes, Stayton, and Gaven Sumrall, Bryton and Braedon Manna, Ferrell Allyne Stonecypher, Mally Jane, Bryson, and Ann Linden Holdeman, Anden and Reed McClurg, Emily Montoya, and Jay Duke, Jr.

The family will receive friends Thursday, August 18, 2016 from 2:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. at Burton Funeral Home, Indianola. Graveside services will follow at 4:00 p.m. at Caile Cemetery, Caile, MS.
