Ruth Boyd Jefcoat, 97, of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and formerly of Indianola, passed away Saturday, October 16, 2021, at The Suites of Jonesboro.

Ruth was born June 11, 1924, in Poplar Creek, to William Joseph Boyd and Vera Holmes Boyd. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Indianola. Ruth was a member of the Indianola Garden Club and enjoyed sharing her roses with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Milton W. Jefcoat; son, Tommy Jefcoat; grandson, Will John Martin; and 10 brothers and sisters.

Ruth is survived by four children, Milton E. Jefcoat (Suzanne) of Shaw, Jerry C. Jefcoat (Midge) of Boyle, Carolyn Martin (John) of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and Linda Powers (Patrick) of Nashville, Tennessee; one brother, Gus Boyd of Houston, Texas; nine grandchildren, Stephanie Fletcher (Josh), Gigi McMurray (Matt), Jere Morgan (Paul), Jodi Ervin (Todd), Candace Jefcoat, Judd Jefcoat (Angela), Rex Stinson, Justin Jefcoat (Amanda), and Tommy Reed Jefcoat (Elizabeth); and great grandchildren, Critz Fletcher, Martin Fletcher, Matthew McMurray (Megan), Josh McMurray, Sam McMurray, Joy Morgan Myers, Brewer Myers, Anna Todd Ervin, Dan Ervin, John Ervin, Ella Catherine Jefcoat, Judson Jefcoat, Ann Lamar Jefcoat, Reagan Coleman, and Grant Coleman; and one great-great grandson, Truit Lee McMurray.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 20, 2021, from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Burton Funeral Home in Indianola. Graveside services will immediately follow at Indianola City Cemetery. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
