Sara Ann Scrivner Downs, 83, of Indianola, passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at Walter B. Crook Nursing Facility in Ruleville.

Sara was the daughter of Rual and Fleta Scrivner. She graduated from Linn High School and Mississippi Delta Junior College Nursing School. Sara was an LPN for many years. She was a member of Linn Methodist Church.

Sara is survived by her husband, Lawrence Downs; two sons, Larry Downs (Janice) and Gary Downs (Robyn); grandson, Charles Downs (Mary Kat); and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Kimberly Calhoun, her sister, Lena Scrivner, and her grandson, Blake Downs.

Visitation will be held Friday, October 23, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Linn Methodist Church, with the service to follow, officiated by Rev. Buddy Smith. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
