Mary Sue Gullett Fitts, 90, of Greenville, passed away Monday, September 28, 2020, at Washington Care Center in Greenville.
Mrs. Fitts was born February 16, 1930, in Mantee, Mississippi and was the daughter of William Lester Gullett and Flora Edna Johnson Gullett. She married Earsell Fitts May 3, 1947, and together they made their home in Greenville. Mrs. Fitts was the true definition of a Proverbs 31 woman. She spent her life taking care of her family. Mrs. Fitts loved cooking, sewing, quilting, gardening, and arranging flowers. She also enjoyed painting with the Delta Dabblers. Mrs. Fitts was a devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church in Greenville where she served on the hospitality committee for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 45 years, Earsell Fitts; daughter, Linda Fitts Robertson; granddaughter, Mary Kathryn Robertson; two brothers, Henry Elliott Gullett and Edward Elaine Gullett; and one sister, Katherine Carl Buxbaum.
Mrs. Fitts is survived by two sons, Jimmy Fitts and wife Martha of Portland, Arkansas, and Jerry Fitts and wife Becki of Leland; one daughter, Kaye Fitts Sullivan and husband Ronny of Leland; son-in-law, David Robertson of Indianola; seven grandchildren, Meredith Weed, Torrey Fitts, Brandy Tominello, Scarlett Cook, Beck Barnes, Kayleigh Sullivan, and Blake Sullivan; and ten great grandchildren.
Private graveside services will be held for the immediate family on Saturday, October 3, 2020, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Greenville. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements. The online guestbook may be signed at www.burtonfuneralhome.net
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital.
