S.Y. Pon Quon's Obituary
Set Yang Pon Quon, 96, of Inverness, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 13, 2017 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.
She was born August 15, 1920 in Canton Province, China. Ms. Quon moved to Inverness in 1952 and she and her husband opened Pon & Company.
She was a lifelong grocer, loved gardening in which she enjoyed raising Chinese vegetables and she also raised chickens. Ms. Quon was a very hardworking woman.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gordon Pon Quon; and one brother.
Ms. Quon leaves to cherish her memory four sons, Wing On Quon and his wife Lee of Inverness, Don W. Quon and his wife Lily of Melrose, Massachusetts, Shun Wing Quon and his wife Jane Jue of Saratoga, California and Dexter Hong Quon and his wife Esther of Oxford; one sister, Xuepo Zhou of Toronto, Canada; six grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 2 great nieces, and one great nephew.
The family will receive friends Saturday, April 22, 2017 from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm at Burton Funeral Home, 634 Highway 82 West, Indianola, MS and Sunday, April 23, 2017 from 1:00 pm until the 2:00 pm funeral service at Moorhead Baptist Church, 801 Olive Street, Moorhead, MS. Burial will follow in Moorhead Cemetery. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola is in charge of arrangements.
