Thomas Gerald Vance, 81, of Indianola, passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at South Sunflower County Hospital.

Gerald was born February 3, 1940, in Indianola, to Thomas George Vance and Eva Keith Vance. He worked for Modern Line Products for many years. Gerald enjoyed hunting, the outdoors, and playing with his dogs. He was a Mississippi Army National Guard veteran. Gerald was a kindhearted, generous man.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Wallace Vance and Willard Vance.

Gerald is survived by his wife Carol Bullock Vance of Indianola; two sons, Thomas Gerald (Stacy) Vance, Jr. of Jackson, Tennessee and Robert Todd (Shawna) Vance of Brandon; three brothers, Ed (Sue) Vance of Greenville, Duley Vance of Indianola, and Larry (Sandra) Vance of Indianola; one sister, Carolyn Abney of Tupelo; two sister in laws, Faye Vance of Indianola and Charlotte Vance of Tupelo;  seven grandchildren, Mary Kimble Pearson, Riley Grace Vance, Colin Vance, Justin Vance, Matthew Trice, Drew Trice, and Colby Vance; and four great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm, Thursday, December 30, 2021, at Indianola City Cemetery. Graveside services will begin at 2:00 pm with Rev. Roy Clark officiating. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
