Thomas Ray Wilson, 81, of Indianola, passed away Thursday, June 4, 2026, at his home surrounded by family.

Tommy was born June 25, 1944, in Glen Allen, to Charlie Thomas Wilson and Mary Magdalene Meshell Wilson. He worked as a mechanic for many years prior to his retirement. Tommy enjoyed watching stock car racing and spending time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dewey Wilson; sister, Sylvia Cain; two daughters, Christina Wilson and Carmen Wilson; grandson, Jacob Wilson; nephew, Charles Mullens; and two nieces, Sherry and JoAnn.

Tommy is survived by his life companion of 37 years, Vonda Tackett of Indianola; two daughters, Stacy Phillips (Henry) of Indianola, and Teresa Wilson Dodd of Purvis; bonus daughter, Tina Contreras (Samuel) of Belzoni; two sons, Jeremy Tackett (Lacey) of Greenville and Jody Miller of Greenville; brother, Charles Wilson of Greenville; sister, Earnestine Blaylock of Yazoo City; eleven grandchildren, Tommy Wilson, Brantley Phillips, Henley Phillips, Kaci Tackett, Maggi Tackett, Jeremy Tackett Jr., Haley Miller, Jody Miller, Abby Miller, Jessica Dodd, and Jeffrey Dodd; and two great granddaughters.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 9, 2026, from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Burton Funeral Home in Indianola. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm with Bro. Pete Roncali officiating. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
