Obituary

Virginia Nobile Milburn Palasini passed away on February 25, 2025, in League City, Texas.  She was born in Black Bayou, Mississippi, on December 28, 1923, and was one of nine children born to Willie and Annie Nobile.  She grew up between Inverness and Moorhead, Mississippi. After graduating from Moorhead High School, she worked in an electronics factory in Murray, Kentucky, manufacturing radios used in World War II.  While in Murray, she met and married her first husband, Herman Dana Milburn.  Dana was in the US Navy and left for duty in the Pacific shortly after they married.  Following the war, they settled in Huntsville, Alabama and raised three children: Annalee, Nancy, and Dana Jr.  Upon Dana Sr.'s death she entered Athens College and received her bachelors and master's degrees in English and counseling and taught school in Huntsville for a number of years.  Later, she married Chester Palasini and moved back home to Indianola, Mississippi where she continued to teach until her retirement in 1985.

Virginia is preceded in death by her parents: Willie and Annie Nobile, husbands: Dana Milburn and Chester Palasini, Daughter: Annalee Hughes, brothers: Gus, Ciro, Willie Jr., and sisters: Margaret Sestak, Marie Yarbrough, and Louise White.  She leaves behind sisters, Yvonne King and Jo Murphy, children, Nancy Kalish, and Dana Milburn Jr., five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 4, 2025 from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Indianola. The funeral mass will begin at 3:00 pm. Burial will follow in Indianola City Cemetery. Burton Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
