William "Hayes" Carter, 20, of Belzoni, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2022, at home surrounded by his family. He was born January 18, 2002, to Joey Carter and Dana Carter. He will be remembered by family and friends for his gracious smile and loving and kind heart. Many have said, to know Hayes was to love him. No truer words have ever been spoken. Hayes never met a stranger and loved to talk to everyone.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Carter and maternal grandfather, Robert McClellan.

He is survived by his parents, Joey Carter and Dana Carter; brother, Nicholas Carter; sisters, Laney Carter and Mari Bess Carter; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Parker and great-grandmother, Mrs. Betty Parker.

Visitation will be from 1:00 o'clock until the 2:00 o'clock service, Saturday, October 15, 2022, at First Baptist Church in Belzoni with Rev. George Johnson officiating. Burial following in the Belzoni Cemetery. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
