William Ben Catlette, Jr.'s Obituary
William Ben Catlette, Jr., 68, died at his home on September 30 2015, in Biloxi, Mississippi. He was born on March 21, 1947, to William Ben and Thelma Wallace Catlette of Inverness, Mississippi.
Ben grew up in Inverness, MS where he was an active member of the 4 H Club. He attended the Inverness Christian Church and graduated from Inverness High School in 1965. He attended Mississippi State University where he studied insurance and received his bachelor's degree in 1970. He was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity and the Army Reserve.
Following college, Ben worked as co-owner of Mid Delta Insurance Agency in Inverness, and he farmed with his brother, Jack. He was a member of the Rotary Club. In 1990, he moved to the Mississippi Gulf Coast and worked in the gaming industry, at the Palace Casino in Biloxi, for the next twenty-five years.
Ben was an independent soul who loved his family and friends and lived his life as he wished. He was an avid collector who also loved sailing and scuba diving. He will be missed.
Ben is preceded in death by his parents.
Ben is survived by his brother, Jack (Martha); nephews, John (Annie) and Brantley (Jondelyn); great nieces, Carter and Iris; and great nephew, Ellis.
Visitation is October 8th at 10:00 A.M., and the service is at 11:00 A.M. at Burton Funeral Home in Indianola, Mississippi. Dr. Jon Doler is officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sunflower County Human Society, 178 Tommy Baird Rd., Inverness, MS 38752.
