William Bryant Cox, 80, of Indianola, passed away Sunday, October 4, 2020, at South Sunflower County Hospital in Indianola.

William was born September 30, 1940, in Boyle, to Trenton and Lorene Sossman Cox. His family moved to Belzoni when he was young, and he graduated from Belzoni High School. He was a sports enthusiast, especially Ole Miss sports. William was a very kindhearted, people-oriented person. He never met a stranger, which made him successful in his sales career. William loved his family, especially his children and grandchildren. He was a member of St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Indianola.

William was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Carolyn Stafford Cox of Indianola; three sons, Bryant Cox and his wife Audrey of Oak Grove, Trent Cox and his wife Christa of Hernando, Rick Stacy of Thompson's Station, Tennessee; one daughter, Susan Stacy of Indianola; two brothers, Charles Cox and his wife Etta of Ridgeland, and Larry Cox of Greenville; and seven grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, October 8, 2020, at Indianola City Cemetery with Rev. Charlie Deaton officiating. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Stephens Episcopal Church, 205 E. Gresham St., Indianola, MS 38751.
