Wilma Weeks Steed's Obituary
Wilma Weeks Steed, 89, of Indianola, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 06, 2017 at South Sunflower County Hospital in Indianola with her loving sons by her side. She was born December 13, 1927 in Choctaw County and was the daughter of James and Ida Weeks.
Mrs. Steed was a member of Second Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother. Mrs. Steed enjoyed cooking, canning and quilting.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Willard Steed, Sr.; son, James Willard Steed, Jr.; and two sisters, Dorothy and Bobbie Jean.
Mrs. Weeks is survived by two sons, Charlie Steed of Monroe, Louisiana, and Don Steed of Indianola; one brother, James Weeks of Weir; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and one great great granddaughter.
The family will receive friends Monday, May 8, 2017 from 12:00 pm until the 1:00 pm funeral service at Burton Funeral Home in Indianola. Burial will follow in Indianola City Cemetery. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola is in charge of arrangements.
