Zettie Ruth Kersh Nash, 82, of Doddsville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at South Sunflower County Hospital in Indianola.

Zettie Ruth was born on December 11, 1942, in Belzoni, to Frank and Edna Vowell Kersh. She was raised in Belzoni, where she attended school. Zettie Ruth was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and was a devoted mother. She also loved tending to her flowers. Zettie Ruth was a member of Roundaway Baptist Church in Doddsville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Jefferson "Doc" Nash; son, Richard Todd Nash; and her siblings, Grady Kersh, Doc Kersh, Karon Kersh, Billy Kersh, and Betty Kersh Brown.

Zettie Ruth is survived by her beloved son, William "Bill" Nash of Doddsville, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Roundaway Baptist Church. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Bob Hill and Rev. Gayden Harrell officiating. Burial will follow in Roundaway Cemetery. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
