Obituary

Mary Lou Butler Robertson, 77, of Indianola died Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at her home. Visitation will be held Saturday, April 7, 2012 from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am funeral service at Burton Funeral Home in Indianola. Burial will follow in Indianola City Cemetery under the direction of Burton Funeral Home. Mrs. Robertson was born January 11, 1935 in Bear Creek, Alabama to Ted and Nola Davis Butler. She married Hubert Robertson on October 25, 1952. She lived in Missouri from 1940-1961 and in December 1961 they moved to Indianola. She was a social worker for South Sunflower County Hospital for over 30 years until her retirement. She was a member of First Baptist Church where she was a member of the Faith Sunday School class. She was a member of the David Holmes Chapter of the DAR, and the Indianola Garden Club.Mrs. Robertson was preceded in death by her parents, and her three brothers, Houston Butler, Hoyte Butler, and Clayton Butler. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Hubert Robertson; daughter, Mary Elizabeth (Kim) Makamson of Morgan City, MS; three sons, Greg (Janice) Robertson of Inverness, David (Linda) Robertson, and John Eric (Sheila) Robertson of Indianola; seven grandchildren, Kris Lindsey, Chad Robb, Mary Helen Makamson, Sara Butler Makamson, Caroline Makamson, Alanna Robertson, John Gregory Robertson, Mary Kathryn Robertson and two great grandchildren, Christian and Eli.
